Several of us Linux users are requesting that JRivers come up with a Linux Media Centre or Jukebox. Download site is and Media Jukebox 8 is the bottom one (8.400) if anyone would like to give it a try. This is a free download for 30 days, then some of the features become unusable unless you have the license. It will not recognize my cd/dvd drive or allow me to add a playlist ot whatever is playing now. I am running JRivers old Media Jukebox 8 which works fine on Windows, but only sort of works on LMDE. Has anyone found a player which will allow me to import all my music files and let me create simple single and multiple genre playlists (female vocal, romance, Christmas, instrumental, jazz, barbershop chorus, barbershop quartet, etc) and be able to exclude and single smartlist (ie: Christmas)? Because of the multiple genres, Banshee, for one, creates some 200+ playlists with anywhere from 1 to 20+ songs per list. Obviously, I do not wish to relabel all 10+k files. I need a player which will allow me to not play certain genres (example: Christmas songs outside the season) as well as having smartlists (dynamic playlists). I am seeking a jukebox (media player) for LMDE which will accept and playlist my 10k music files (songs) whioh are already categorized by artist, title, and genre (most have multiple genres).
